Maps581349288062023-10-08Very comfortable family run place A very simple but very clean 10 room family run place. Very hospitable family, mother and daughters really looked after us well. They were happy to provide for anything we asked for, really looked after us and the dinner they cooked was really good - like home food. soup was really good. Even breakfast they arranged for us at 5.30 a.m. before we set out on our long driving day. Grand Himalayan Merak Pangong Tso
We visited in October, when the lake had just started to freeze up. All the camps near Panggong Tso had packed up (and we did not have any reservations). The Grand Himalayan resort lives up to its tagline - A cozy accommodation with genuine service. The night was cold outside, but the stay inside our room was warm, and felt luxurious! The hosts were welcoming, the food was delicious and hot water was provided (when everything outside was frozen)!They served Khamir bread with regular-butter, and quickly offered butter made from Yak milk for us when we suggested that. They explained that not everyone liked Yak milk-based-butter, which makes sense to me.
Dolma was the BEST! Her hospitality and simple food was so comforting. She had a big smile on her face the entire time that we were there and was so helpful and calm irrespective of us being so many in numbers. Her children were the cutest. Rooms were cozy and the service was fantastic!
Wonderful view of pangong lake from the window. Sunrise straight into your room.Might have Breathing issues at high altitude for few . About 14000ft above sea level.Hosts are amazing ,very polite and helpful.Lights out at 10.30pm. Holidays not for the faint hearted.
This is a gorgeous place to stay. Beautiful location, stunning views, cozy rooms and wonderful food. The staff was so kind and considerate, they made sure every need was met and treated us with a lot of respect. The location in itself has its challenges, while you get a great lake view, pangong has trouble with electricity and cold. Despite these challenges the staff managed to provide all the necessary resources. The decor was quaint and beautiful. This is definitely a great stay!
Excellent cozy stay and awesome food at sub-zero temperature. The lake view is also good.Lip smacking Buffet dinner and breakfast with veg & non-veg cuisines. Also, hot beverages always available at restaurants, without any additional cost.The host and staffs are always ready to support for any assistance like hot water bags, food parcel for road trip.However please note, it is in Merak village which around 20km from Pangong Lake view point, Spangmik.
